  2. The book i had recently just finished is called "Street Pharm". This book was written by Alison van deipen, my overall impression of the book was good and kept me interested. MY reaction to this article was not very surprised due to the picture is of someone reading a comic on their ipad. Technology has gone so far but continues to grow, it has good outputs on people for example to continue reading without purchasing a book just simply downloading it .

  3. Divergent was the most recent book i read, and enjoyed. My opinion of the article is that even though technology is changing, reading will always be around even if your reading it on paper or online. Reading wont fade away.

  4. but how about the interaction of an ebook? for example if I'm reading on my iPad about something and a place, person is mentioned, I can tap on it, and it will search the name or place on the internet, and immediately I have more information about it.

    1. I meant to add the ebook in as well, it clearly out performs a book, but I think the interaction of the ebook is too much like an encyclopedia, having too much information isn't always a good thing. Being able to get deep into a book is part of the experience, because if you have links upon links for information, it may side track you from the goal of being really interested in the book itself.

  5. I'm reading Divergent, only about 10 chapters in, so far it's a good book.
I don't particularly like ebooks. They may out preform a paper book, but ebooks lack the certain intimacy with the story that regular books have. Sitting down and reading a book all cozy without having to worry about charging your tablet or getting tempted to minimize and hit up Facebook is actually quite relaxing.

  6. Well said Mara. For some reason though I now find that intimacy in my iPad. but it is very distracting. this morning I planned on reading, but got into my email and am now blogging for the class!

  7. The most recent book I read was called "sketches". I found this book to be very interesting and it definitely changed my perspective on homeless people. In reading this article I learnt that reading will always be around whether its on paper or on something advanced, such as a eBook. Either way most people still do enjoy reading. Although I find it a bit ridiculous that people spend time/money/electricity using technology to read off of when you could use a book.
Im curious if eBook's would hurt your eyes to read/look at after a while?

  8. true. you don't need to read it off a screen, but it does make a book for interactive. Watch this video about interactive books for young readers. Tell what you think.

  9. I personally find it funny that reading is a "huge accomplishment". I understand keeping the passion alive for reading, im all for literature. But whats up with the eBook's? What ever happened to good ol' classic paper.. with ink. Id personally rather flip a page literally then virtually. I am currently reading The Fault in Our Stars by I forget who its by at the moment haha, but you should check it out. very well written.

  12. The last book i read was tricks by Ellen Hopkins, i like her books because they have good meanings behind the story she is trying to tell and i can relate to some of them to, and they are interesting books to.
The article is pretty much saying it wants the next generation to like reading like Canadians use to,but now everyone is starting to buy tablets and its so much easier to find the books you would like to read, there is a bigger variety of books.

  13. The last book i read was Street Pharm. It was an alright book and it kept me interested. There is not really much of a difference between books and e books. Your still reading so it doesn't really matter.

  14. I am currently reading a book called "Joyce Meyer" A christian Preacher of God.I absolutely Love the book and all the others as-well from her. They keep me very focused and interested and give me a great insight on life and the way of the lord. Its a wondering meaningful book that i agree everyone should give a try reading. Its tells a lot about ones self. This article to me is just showing how much times have changed. It does give us a selection of oldies from the past for people who are looking into reading those that may not be out anymore but can also be a money saver in ways.Either way you look at it you are still reading but compare looking at a screen for hours at a time to an actual educational book that gives you the feeling of enjoyment and comfort as you read it.There are many factors for each that could be taken into consideration.
