Apple cements tablet market lead with new iPad

Apparently you own an iPad?


Why is it that in the news that it seems that everyone is buying iPads (or similar tablets).  Yet, in our program and among my friends, I only know two people that own them.  How is this so?  Read the link below before responding.  I'd prefer blogs based on the article.  Attempt to quote the article while answering the above question.

    I think the reason it seems everyone is buying iPads and other competing tablets is because the buying market is being extended down to smaller ages and people are buying them because the are the hottest item on the market. They have apps for these tablets that are designed for small children as well as some of the tablets are waterproof and kid safe. I think the reason that only a few people around us have them is because it is too condensed to have an accurate representation. If you were to expand the area to the city you would probably find a ton more people walking around with iPads.

    40 ppl can be an accurate representation. There is, however, one common denominator among most, not all, of the students here why they don't have an iPod.

      I think that most students have a ways to listen to music and check their Facebook whether it is on their iPod or their (smart)phone. They may not have a tablet because they are content with their device at the moment. Give it a couple of months when all the hype to get one is over and people can afford these luxuries (and when they are done with their current device). Since the new Ipad has come out i believe more people are going to not want to buy the more expensive iPad but still get their money worth for an older model Ipad or even the competing tablets.

    In my opinion I think everyone is buying iPad's because they are little convienent computers in a way, they are an iPod Touch but bigger and better quality camera, I know of many people who own a tablet and wished they have gotten an iPad, but the thing is they are expensive and new iPads keep coming out each year, so I wouldn't just buy one then 6 months later and so on, a brand new model comes out such a waste of money when I could of gotten the newer model for just a bit more cash."I got hyped into it, I guess" as one said in the article, they're are many other knock-off's of iPad's that look like the real deal too for a much cheaper price, so in the most case many people don't have iPad's because they are expensive, and not everyone can afford "a huge iPod Touch".

    In my opinion I think everyone is buying iPads is because, one it's convient and is a multipurpose device. Another reason is because people buy it, to show a sense if pride and try an make them look socially well off or rich. Another reason is because the market and advetising has made people wanna buy it. Apple has really good marketing and has hyped up, an made the iPad the must thing to get ("the hottest product"). Also brags about the apps you can get for it.

    Having an iPad is not practical for people that can't afford regular extras, also if you already have a computer its a waste of time to spend that much money on something that's going to constantly change with time, they have 3 iPad, but they have 4 types of iPhone, if i was going to buy an iPad i'd hold out until they came up with the best version but the problem is there always going to be coming up with new versions of the iPad.

    the reason the ipad is so successful is because of people that have work were the ipad is the most convenient and sufficient for the money buying one thing you have everything at your finger tips easy as pie thats why they are the highest selling but you dont see them also i noticed that the U.S is the cheapest place to get one it dosent say canada but that might have something to do with it

    i think people are buying Ipads because its alot more convient then computers and its a smaller device to carry around for work or college/university students. and they advertise the ipad so much to make people want the device, and it has so much to do on it. some people just want the newest upgrade.

    Personally I believe that people are buying these iPads because they're a very convenient handheld tool. These Ipads and tablets are simply becoming more and more popular because anyone of any age can access these known to the fact it is really just a handheld more hi-tech pc . In my opinion it seems to be more popular around the working field due to its convenience when out on a daily job, but also very common in schooling and other areas for around the same reason.

    Just as other articles have shown, advertisement can bring a very big income of money. In which yes of course that could always be the case. When I was still living in Toronto there had been many posters in the subway and on trains and busses is where I mostly came in contact with seeing it. There are so many different ways of advertisement and apple really takes there time into smart thinking of where the most advertisement is needed and which has most of the world’s population watching; listening. I've also noticed that since it is a computer like version of the iPhone it is more common because people can use it whom have own previous iPhones or alike phones.

    In my point of view I would never get an iPad as you are pretty much asking to be upset in the future knowing the new one is now released and has better “megapixel” on the camera or a new feature t the screen ect. I think people I know and whom I talk to do not own one that I am aware of because they would probably agree that it is a waste and following disappointment.

    Well they are really convenient, they look nice, the software is different and "cool", they are lightweight and portable. The reason they are not that popular in our class and with people I know is because they cost crazy cash, and apple seems to come out with a newer more advanced model every couple months.
